What you need to know before the game...

On Saturday 20th September, Knowle FC welcome Nuneaton Town to the Draintech Community Ground for a second round qualifying match in the Isuzu FA Vase.

It's 29 years since Knowle last competed in this round of the competition and the team are excited by the prospect of making more history.  Nuneaton Town represent a really tough test however so it's set up to be a big game and a cracking watch!

Both sides come into the game in fine form. Knowle have seven wins on the bounce and sitting in third place in MFL Division One.  They have been excellent in defence, conceding the fewest goals in the league and goals have been shared out round the team; skipper George Seeley has eight, with Talib Copeland and Zak Parsons just behind on seven each.  Seven goals from the backline also highlight their threat at set pieces.

Nuneaton Town play in the United Counties Premier League season, which is one step above Knowle in the pyramid at Step 5.  The team have had a superb start to the season, sitting top of the table and currently unbeaten.  They too have the best defensive record in their league, and also boast the highest number of goals scored, Kyle Jardine the big threat with twelve from twelve so far.

Basic match details are as follows:

Kick off - 3pm

Ground open - 1pm

Gate fee - £7 adults, £4 concessions, £3 parking

Bar & clubhouse open for hot & cold drinks and snacks.

Food truck on site - Steak Bites UK

We are expecting a large crowd for this game, so please be mindful of arriving in good time, walking, car sharing or using public transport where possible and being considerate to both other match attendees and local residents.

There is some limited parking at the ground, this will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  Please park carefully to ensure we can maximise the space available and fit as many supporters in as possible.  If supporters are planning on arriving early before the ground is open, or once space in the ground is full, we advise supporters to use the pay & display car parks in Knowle:

Knowle and Dorridge car parks | Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

We would suggest the Shoppers Car Park at rear of Greswolde House is the the best option, and is only a 10 minute walk to the ground.  For anyone choosing to park on local streets, please do so considerately and be mindful of access and space for residents.

For any supporters arriving early, there are plenty of pubs and bars in Knowle, and places to get food.  The Wilsons Arms is the nearest pub, situated on the corner of High Street & Hampton Road, this is a Toby Carvery.  The Vaults is a proper old school pub serving a great beer selection.  There's also the Red Lion which will serve pub food and drinks. Cafes for a sandwich and a coffee include Freda's Deli & Elderberry Blacks.  All of these are in walking distance from the ground. You can find out more about where to go in Knowle at Visit Knowle, home of Independent businesses and retailers

Knowle FC is run entirely by volunteers on matchday. Due to the anticipated crowd at this game, we have bought in some extra volunteers but there is still finite space in the bar and certain facilities around the ground where it is likely we'll be working at maximum capacity.  Please be patient when required, and treat all volunteers with the kindness and respect they deserve.
