New Management Team for Knowle Ladies

Richard Stanway appointed manager

We are delighted to announce that Richard Stanway has been appointed as Manager of the Knowle Ladies team.

Richard has a long association with Knowle FC. His father was Chairman in the 1980's and Richard, his son and eldest daughter have all played for the club at either junior or senior level. In recent years, Richard has managed a successful girls team at Solihull Moors before running an up and coming women's team at Coleshill Town.

Joining Richard in his management team will be the following:

  • Dave Warner (Assistant Manager)
  • Matt Bamber (Head Coach)
  • Matt Belcher (Coach & Performance Analyst)
  • Richard Steadman (Goalkeeper Coach)

Over the past two years the Knowle Ladies team have been in transition and the team have struggled to meet the standards they set themselves since gaining promotion to the West Midlands Regional Premier Division in 2014. For most of last season, captain Sam Smith acted as Player/Manager with the support of Justin Barnes when he was available. Both of them did a great job of keeping the team together under difficult circumstances. We would like to place on record our thanks for their endeavours, and to the other club volunteers who worked hard to support the team.

In addition to a strong management team, Richard will be bringing a number of new recruits who will strengthen the quality and depth of the existing squad and put the team in a position to look forward to a successful campaign new season.

We're sure that all Knowle supporters will join us in welcoming everyone to the club and wishing them well for the season ahead!
